Blessed, thankful, filled with joy
TO THE EDITOR:

I have been a daily visitor at the Senior Center for 25 years. I am about to celebrate my 92nd birthday.

During these many years at the Senior Center I have enjoyed the programs and the many friendships of so many people. I am so grateful for the Center, and I appreciate all that it has given me. This includes a hot lunch and the buses that pick us up and carry us to town, to the doctors, and to the grocery stores. I don't think I will be able to go to the Center again and for that I am sorry.

Recently my health got worse. I spent a month in our hospital. My doctor, Dr. David Kirk, and my retired Dr. Alphonso Hilliard have guided my health care for many years. Dr. Kirk and the wonderful staff of nurses, technicians, and physical therapists worked with me and got me strong enough that I am now back at home.

Each and every day at the hospital was filled with joy, peace, and happiness because of the caring staff. We are so fortunate to have this hospital and its trained staff to care for the people of Wilkes County. I would not be here today if not for this hospital, Dr. Kirk, and God Almighty.

By the grace of GOD I am so blessed to be here another day. And I am so very thankful to everyone in Wilkes County who has loved and supported me.
