Rev. O'Neil Martin was sick and unable to come to Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Sunday. The chairman of the deacons, James Braxton, spoke. He is not well either but he did a good job. Karmen Moon led the singing and also sang several specials. We hope our pastor will be well soon. .. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the Georgia Baptist Association Inspirational Meeting held at Beaverdam Baptist Church Tuesday night. It was a good meeting. Rev. David Jordan, pastor at Penfield Baptist Church, preached a very inspiring message. After the meeting, delicious refreshments were served. ..Mrs. James Sherrer and Mrs. Philip Huff went to Greenwood last Tuesday to see Mrs. Statham Huff at Wesley Commons Health Center. She was doing well. Her son, John Fradella, met us there and we all went to Ryan's for lunch. ..Lindsey Scott of Augusta visited Mrs. Iris Dyson Wednesday afternoon. ..Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford in Thomson Wednesday. They had lunch at Ryan's. .. Mrs. Evelyn George and her daughter, Sally George of Arden, N.C., visited Mrs. Iris Dyson Saturday morning. ..Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer joined the senior members of Tignall Baptist Church and traveled to Hiawassee Saturday to see the annual United Community Bankers Show held at Anderson Music Hall. We had a good time and enjoyed the trip and fellowship with them. ..Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford and their granddaughter Maddie of Greenville, Ala., who was spending the week with them. ..Visiting Mrs. Iris Dyson Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lance of Lexington and Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Atkinson of Washington. ..Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland enjoyed spending time at the Jockey Lot in Augusta Saturday. ..On their way to Greenville, S.C., on a business trip, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bowman of Mt. Dora, Fla., stopped by to visit Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Sunday evening. Samille and Mary Ann are cousins and had not seen each other in a very long time. ..Hannah Scoggins of Augusta spent Saturday night with her grandmother, Mrs. Evans Davis. She accompanied Mrs. Davis to services at Clifford's Grove Sunday. They were joined by her mother, Mrs. Bill Scoggins, for lunch Sunday before returning to their home.
