Frank Fanning

Funeral services for Frank "Boss" Fanning, 97, were held Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Twin Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Maddox officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Wednesday, April 25, at his residence.

Mr. Fanning was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County. He was the son of the late Howard B. Fanning and Sue Willis Fanning.

Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Fannie Anthony Fanning; six daughters, Sue Bradley, Rose Baisey, Katherine Jones, Doretha Davis, Emma Beatty, and Barbara Bacon; three sons, Willie Joe Fanning, Raymond Fanning, and Nathaniel Fanning; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Davenport & McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
