George L. Sims Jr.

Graveside services for George L. Sims Jr., 57, will be held Thursday, May 3, 2007, at 1 p.m., at City West Cemetery, Washington. He died April 27.

Mr. Sims was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of Mae Sims Stephens and the late George L. Sims. He moved to New York with his family at an early age, returning to Wilkes County in his later life to assist with the care of his mother. He had been married to Sally Sims.

Survivors include his mother, Mae Sims Stephens of Washington; a brother, Danny Sims, Rochester, New York; and two sisters, Iman David of Staten Island, N.Y., and Sarah Fennell of Stone Mountain.
