The bride is the daughter of Charles Ray Thornton and Mrs. Joy Reeves of Washington. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Price of Statesboro. The couple exchanged vows near a large pond and amid blooming spring flowers. The ceremony took place under a four-columned concrete staired platform before a setting of varying heights of ferns. Jars filled with votives hung from the trees leading to the ceremony's entrance. After the seating of the grandmothers and mothers to "Wachet Auf", the wedding party processed to "Canon in D." The bride entered to "Bridal Chorus." "When I Said 'I Do'" was played for the lighting of the unity candle. The "Wedding March" was the recessional. Mr. Price was his son's best man. They wore traditional black tuxedos with silver vests and ties and hot pink rose boutonnieres. Kellie Rogers Echols of Washington was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Hammock and Jennie Williams of Statesboro, Taylor Echols of Washington, niece of the bride, Amanda Dyson, cousin of the bride, and Jennifer Houpt, both of Augusta, Kimberly Maxwell Moore of Crawfordville, and Erin Harrison of Savannah. Their gowns and flowers were the same as those of the honor attendant. All wore Swarovski jet black and clear crystal earrings, gifts from the bride. Savannah Ray Echols of Washington, junior bridesmaid, wore an ivory design with ivory swirls matching the beaded flowers on the bride's gown. Her bouquet was a smaller version of the attendants' flowers. Georgia Marie Echols of Washington, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore an ivory chiffon dress with a satin café band matching the bride's. Rhinestones accented the pick-up hemline. She carried an ivory basket with hot pink and light pink rose petals. C.J. Rogers of Washington, nephew of the bride, and Bailey Price of Metter, nephew of the bridegroom, were ring bearers Given in marriage by her father, the bride was elegant in an ivory strapless fully beaded gown in a fitted design through the hip accented with a café satin sash. Beaded and embroidered flowers adorned the chapel train. Her earrings were clear Swarovski crystals mixed with ivory pearls. Her knee-length single-tiered veil featured beaded flowers around the train as on the chapel train of the gown. Her hand-tied bouquet was offwhite mini calla lilies and roses finished with an off-white wrap enhanced with pearls. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Reeves wore a three-piece champagne ensemble. The iridescent shell bodice featured champagne and white tone-on-tone beaded flowers and fell over a flowing skirt. The same design adorned the jacket collar and sleeves. Diamond earrings complemented her attire. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Lewis, wore a smoke blue formal gown with a rhinestone sparkling bodice over a charmeuse-lined chiffon floor-length skirt. A shawl and a smoke blue Swarovski crystal necklace completed her ensemble. The mothers' flowers were ivory spray roses and greenery enhanced with ivory ribbon. Pat Miller of Millen, the bridegroom's aunt, directed the wedding assisted by DeeDee Goodwin of Cincinnati, Ohio, cousin of the bridegroom. Reception The couple was honored at a reception at the Robbins Nest following the ceremony. An ornate black antique chest held the guest book. Votives with the couple's name and wedding date, favors from the couple, were on the chest and the engagement portrait was nearby. Brexton Price Rogers of Augusta, nephew of the bride, kept the bride's book. The bride's table, covered with an off-white cloth, held the square fourtiered pound cake displayed on a silver pedestal. The initial "L" in white on a silver pedestal topped the cake with light pink sweetheart roses around the initial. The bridegroom's cake was a twotiered circular Red Velvet confection with chocolate covered strawberries. Records and CD's were displayed around the cake. Pictures of the bridegroom in his DJ "second profession" were on each side of the cake. Crystal tea lights were in front of the photos. Guests enjoyed a buffet of boiled shrimp, pork tenderloin, chicken fingers, spinach dip, assorted cheeses, rolls, fresh fruits around chocolatecovered strawberries and a mashed potato bar with accompaniments of gravy, cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, all to be served from wine glasses. A framed display of four different engagement poses was flanked by tea lights and arrangements of off-white roses and pink and white carnations. Also used in decorating were offwhite linens, hurricanes with pillar candles surrounded by matching hurricane votives, and light pink, hot pink and ivory petals. About the yard were other pillar candles, blooming flowers, natural landscaping, potted spring flowers, and a gazebo with hanging candles and lanterns.
