Engaged couple entertained at miscellaneous shower April 21

Engaged couple Katherine Jones and W. E. Burdette IV were entertained at a miscellaneous couple's shower Saturday, April 21, at the Washington Woman's Club.

Hosts for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Barnett and Mr. and Mrs. Jason Dyson.

Casual attire was the dress for the evening and the bride-elect's ensemble was accented with a corsage of white Gerber daisies.

A festive display of Gerber daisies hung on the front door. As guests entered the clubhouse they registered in the bride's book placed on a table decorated with a galvanized look silver bucket of Gerber daisies.

Mantles featured magnolia leaves with lighted hurricanes on each end.

Tables were covered in blue with brown polka dots and held galvanized look silver buckets, each with

candle.

Guests enjoyed a delicious Low Country Boil, prepared by Frank Bentley, with slaw, rolls, sweet tea and water. Desserts of homemade fried apple and peach pies completed the menu.

The hosts presented the couple a microwave oven.

Special guests for the evening were the bride-elect's father, Kenneth Jones of Thomson; the prospective bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Burdette III, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Burdette Jr., all of Washington.
