Wrestlers receive awards at annual banquet April 29

The Washington-Wilkes Tiger wrestling team held its awards banquet on Sunday, April 29, recognizing all levels of the program for their achievements during the past year.

Coach Juan Ramos awarded certificates and pins to USA wrestlers and acknowledge the growth of the youth program. Coach Ed Lovvorn awarded certicates and pins to the Middle School wrestlers and praised them for their undefeated dual season. Lovvorn also awarded letters and pins to varsity wrestlers and Mat Girls.

Achievement Pins were awarded to the following wrestlers: Josh Cosby and Jesse Crago - 50 career wins; Trey McCants and D.J. Willis - 75 career wins; John Lovvorn, Tyson Gilland, and Dywane Hampton - 100 career wins. Also receiving awards were Charlton Ware and Evan Harrison - Most Improved Wrestlers; Trey McCants - Senior Leader; John Lovvorn - Juan Ramos Dedication Award; and Tyson Gilland - Jerry Brown MVP Award.
