Booker, Warthen memorial service this Sunday at 6

The Reese J. Booker Scholarship Committee will have its annual fund-raising memorial service for the late Reese J. Booker and Rosa Grant Warthen on Sunday, May 27.

The program will be held at Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church on Lexington Avenue, Washington, at 6 p.m. Rev. Michael Gresham will be the guest speaker and the Reeves Chapel Baptist Church and Choir will be the guest choir.

Other invited churches and choirs include Springfield, Pleasant Grove, New Ford, Young's Chapel, Twin Oaks, Mulberry, Trinity, Mt. Olive, Cherry Grove, White Rock, Flint Hill, Shady Grove, Lyonsville, Transforming Life Ministries, True Light, Gibson Grove, Mt. Carmel, Hilliard's Station, Pole Branch, Washington Seventh Day Adventist, Faith Christian Center, New Sutton's Temple, Church of Christ, Harvest Time Christian Center, Crawfordville Holiness Church, Christ City of Prayer, the Church of the Lord Jesus, Mountaintop Ministries, Cities of Refuge, Marks Tabernacle, New Saints, Tower of Refuge, Pompey's Chapel, Booker's Chapel, Rayle Outreach Ministries, Jackson Chapel, Black Rock, Bethel, New Salem, Clifford Grove, New Springhill, Heard's Chapel, Paine, Mt. Nebo, Samaria Temple, Macedonia, Gresham's Male Chorus, and Springfield's Community Mass Choir.

A scholarship will be given in memory of "Miss Grant."

Anyone interested in making a donation to either the Reese J. Booker or Rosa Grant Warthen Scholarship Fund should make checks payable to the desired scholarship fund and mail it in care of Clara Sutton, P.O. Box 261, Washington 30673.
