Florine Cobb and T.J. Norman united in marriage on May 12
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Carrie Bell Cobb and the late Jame Lee Cobb of New York. The bridegroom is the son of the late Bennie Norman and Mrs. Millie Norman of Tignall. Dolly Gaye of Washington, keyboardist, presented the prelude. Soloists were Robert King and Melvine Binns of Washington, Tyler McCray of Augusta, cousin of the bride, Greg Norman, cousin of the bridegroom, and Melissa Blackmon, both of Tignall. Carl Norman of Tignall was his brother's best man. His brother, Grady Norman, also of Tignall, served as groomsman. Catherine Harris of Sharon served her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Colene Cullars of Metasville, cousin of the bride, and Mary Alice Wingfield of Washington. They wore pink knee-length dresses and carried pink silk bouquets. Arveale Brittian of Atlanta, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore a white dress and carried a white basket of rose petals. Markel Cobb of Washington, grandson of the bride, served as ring bearer. The bride was lovely in her long champagne gown. The upper bodice was embellished with irridescents. Her elbow-length veil fell from a matching heart-shaped headpiece. She carried a cream and pink silk bouquet. Seated in places of honor at the ceremony were the bride's brother, Johnny Cobb of New York City; aunts, Jessie McLendon and Mamie Gartrell of Augusta; Henrietta Callaway, Sara Hall and Hattie Cofer of Washington, and Willie Eve Norman and Raleigh Norman of Tignall. The wedding was directed by Gayle Hill of Tignall. Reception Following the ceremony the couple entertained at a reception at the Washington-Wilkes Country Club. The clubhouse was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Guests enjoyed a dinner of roast beef, ham, fried chicken, barbecued pork, meatballs, hot wings, macaroni and cheese, green beans, corn, cabbage, collard greens, potato salad, pasta salad and black-eyed peas. In addition to the wedding cake, guests enjoyed pound cake, Red Velvet cake, rum cake, rum brownies, coconut cake, punch and tea. Music for the reception and dance were by a DJ.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman are making their home in Washington.
