Iris Garden Club meets on May 8 at Holes home

The Iris Garden Club met Tuesday, May 8, at the home of Debbie Holes on Pembroke Drive for the annual Spring Luncheon.Karen Stubbs, president, presided and thanked Mrs. Holes for opening her home. She also welcomed members and thanked hostesses, Nita Latimer, Jackie Gale, Mary Lou Dyer, Marian Thorpe and Lisa Luken.

A business meeting was held prior to the luncheon and it was announced that the Georgia Daylily Society Show would be all day on Sunday, June 2, at the Milledgeville Mall at North Columbia Street- Highway 441/24, Milledgeville.

Norma Hopkins installed new officers for 2007-2009 as Karen Stubbs, president; Franny Robinson, first vice-president, programs; Rena Strickland, second vice-president, membership; Lauren Toburen, third vice-president, ways and means; Evelyn Bennett, secretary, and Cathy Stackhouse, treasurer.

Laura Toburen offered the blessing before the luncheon. Everyone brought a favorite salad for a bountiful buffet.

Present with Mrs. Holes were members, Ruth Adams, Eleanor Blackmon, Mary Ann Bentley, Jane Bundy, Sandy Burton, Mary Lou Dyer, Jackie Gale, Anna Gunter, Dot Harris, Norma Hopkins, Nobie Keener, Nita Latimer, Lisa Luken, Nancy McAvoy, Oleta McAvoy, Marilyn Pasco, Marcia Paxton, Bernie Pope, Franny Robinson, Cathy Stackhouse, Rena Strickland, Karen Stubbs, Marian Thorpe, Laura Toburen, Patsy Winn, Sharlene Zima and guest, Carol McTier.
