Kitchen shower held in honor of Vanessa Wilson Vanessa Wilson was guest of honor at a kitchen shower on Saturday, May 12, at the home of Petite Garrett in Swainsboro. Joining Mrs. Garrett in entertaining were Frances Cross, Gail Edenfield, Jana Lee and Amanda Peebles, all of the Swainsboro area. Miss Wilson, bride-elect of Clay Patrick of Guyton, was beautifully attired in a black and pink print three-quarter length blouse and black skirt with crepe overlays. The hostesses presented her a corsage of white Shasta daisies featuring a set of measuring spoons in keeping with the theme of the shower. The refreshment table featured a massive arrangement of summer flowers from the garden of Mrs. Edenfield.Guests enjoyed biscuits with ham or jelly, bacon "bowties," fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Following a game featuring familiar sayings associated with the kitchen and cooking, Miss Wilson opened her many gifts.
Special guests attending included Candy Hopkins of Washington, the bride-elect's mother, and cousins, Marion Hammond and Vivie Ann Wilson of Tignall; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Evelyn Patrick of Swainsboro, aunts, JoAnn Lane of Twin City and Glenda Riner of Swainsboro, and cousin, Brooke Stubbs of Pooler.
