Crystal Wheatley surprised with shower at Fitzpatrick

The Fitzpatrick Hotel Ballroom was the scene of a surprise baby shower honoring Crystal Wheatley on Sunday afternoon, May 6.

Hostesses were Linda Eaton of Guyton, Dorothy Wheatley of Hayesville, N.C., Heather Wheatley of Athens, Gretchen Lamar, Crystal Purdy and Laura Purdy.

Mrs. Wheatley was pinned with a white daisy tied with pink ribbon to celebrate the occasion.

As guests arrived, they signed the register at a table decorated with a fresh spring bouquet, a copy of the invitation and a wooden "Madison" in honor of the soon-to-be newest addition to the Wheatley family.

A focal point of the table was a cake iced in pink and accented with white polka dots. Also served from the table was a bread bowl of spinach dip, fruits, vegetables, nuts, mints, cheese straws and strawberry punch.

Tables for guests' seating were accented with spring bouquets.

Pink gingham decorated the gift table. Another table behind this setting featured a display of vintage baby clothes.

The hostesses presented Mrs. Wheatley a pink baby stroller/carrier.

Forty guests were invited.
