Thanks to the man in the red truck I am sure that you get a lot of letters and that you are very busy but I hope that you can fit this in because I need to thank someone and I can't think of any other way to do it. In today's society where most people only concentrate on themselves, I have found a rarity in this wonderful county. My son and I moved here in 2004 and we have enjoyed the friendliness of the people we have met, but last week I found proof that people still care about their neighbors - even if they don't know them. I own a small house close to Pole Branch Church that I have been trying to remodel so that my son and I can move in, but it is taking me longer than I had planned. The high prices of building supplies and gas have made it difficult to get to the house as much as I would like and so my yard has suffered from neglect. The grass in someplaces was as high as my knees. It looked terrible and I felt bad that my neighbors had to look at the mess that my yard had become, but I couldn't come up with a solution to fix the problem. The week before last, with weedeater in hand, I set off to cut the grass around my house. After several hours I had managed to only cut directly around the house. It still left an awful lot to cut but I was exhausted. So I decided I would come back in a couple of days and and finish it up. To my great relief, Tuesday of last week, my brother volunteered to finish cutting my grass for me. He loaded up his lawnmower and headed to my house but when he got there the grass had already been cut. After asking my neighbor about the grass, he was told that some man in a red pickup truck with a riding mower had stopped and cut my grass. When I was told, I cried. Something like that never would have happened where I used to live. So, I would like to thank the man in the red truck from the bottom of my heart. I don't know who you are but I appreciate what you did for me. I hope that in the future I can help someone the way you helped me. Thank you so much! JENNIFER ALLEN
