Moss tells of rehabilitation work
The Reverend Dr. Denni Moss, new rector at The Church of the Mediator in Washington, was the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, May 29. Moss told members about her background and career, explaining that her work in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs had changed her life. She related that she had worked as a chaplain at Georgia Tech, at a maximum security prison, and in Atlanta's Grady Hospital Rape Crisis Counseling Department. Her work in drug and alcohol abuse programs resulted in a recovery rate of over 30 percent whereas the national average for recovery results is about seven percent. Rev. Bill Boyd (left) was the program host for the day.
