The morning worship service Monday through Saturday will feature Rev. Andy Collins, Pastor of Sharon Baptist Church since June 2004. He worked as Youth Director at Sharon for two years and at Powell Baptist Church for four years. Collins has a heart for kids. He taught high school social studies for a year at Butler High School before becoming full time pastor at Sharon Baptist. His calling to youth ministry came during a mission trip to Mexico. He went to Mexico to pour concrete and to be part of a construction crew to add on to the church building - but NOT to work with the children. But as the Lord would have it, it rained too hard to pour concrete and the only thing left to do was to work with the children. It was during this week that the Lord touched his heart to enter into youth ministry. Collins' service to the Lord as pastor at Sharon has been a time of spiritual growth and fulfillment for Andy personally and for the church. He currently attends Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta where he is working on a Masters of Divinity degree. The guest evangelist for the Monday through Saturday evening services and the Sunday morning service is Rev. Phil Bray. Bray has been serving as a pastor in Georgia and Alabama for more than 35 years. All of the churches he has served have received recognition form the Georgia Baptist Convention for church growth and for a tremendous increase in baptisms. Bray loves to witness and he loves to praise. He is a very excited minister for our Lord Jesus! Bray has been married for over 44 years. He has three biological children, one adopted child and currently has two therapeutic foster children in his home. The Brays have never had an empty nest Special evening music for the week is: Monday, Fort Creek Baptist Church Choir, Dearing; Tuesday, Mr. Mark Cheek, First United Methodist Church, Thomson; Wednesday, Mesena United Methodist Church Choir, Mesena; Thursday, Mike Wall, WTHO Radio Station in Thomson; Friday, Rev. Greg Hatfield, Trinity-On-The-Hill United Methodist Church, Augusta; and Saturday, Kathy Gerlach, Fort Creek Baptist Church, Dearing. Sunday morning will feature Macedonia United Methodist Church Choir, Thomson. Fountain Campground was established in 1822 on land deeded for religious purposes only to be governed by nine trustees - three each from McDuffie, Warren and Wilkes Counties. The nondenominational campground does not fall under any one church affiliation, but invites people of all faiths to attend and worship. The tabernacle is open with hand-hewn beams and trusses, wood benches and a sawdust floor. Surrounding the tabernacle are open wooden tents (cabins), which have sawdust floors. Modifications such as electricity and running water have been added. There are recreational vehicle campsites and public bathhouses. Fountain Campground is located on Highway 80 North, approximately 9 miles from the Camak/ Warrenton Exit on I-20. It is located between Cadley and Washington.
Everyone is welcome at Fountain Campground. For additional information on camp meeting activities, to reserve a campsite, or purchasing a BBQ ticket contact Ronnie Johnson at 706-595-6146.
