Juddye Bowers Dozier Graveside services for Juddye Bowers Dozier, 94, of Taliaferro County were held Monday, May 28, 2007, in the city cemetery in Sharon, with Rev. Dr. Don Randall. She died May 25, at the Hart Care Center, Hartwell. Mrs. Dozier was a lifelong Universalist and a memorial service will be held at a date to be announced at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Canon. Mrs. Dozier was born in Canon and was the daughter of the late James C. and Bernice Bowers. She earned a degree in education at the University of Georgia and taught in the public schools for 24 years. She was chosen 1957 Teacher of the Year at Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville. She retired from education in 1958. She and her husband, the late Bill Dozier, were married for over 50 years. Survivors include four nieces and four nephews; a step-daughter, Blanche Sturdivant; four stepgrandchildren; and 11 step-greatgrandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 428, Sharon, Ga. 30664; the Taliaferro County Historical Society, Crawfordville 30631; or the Unitarian-Universalist Church Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 185, Canon, Ga. 30620.
