Lauren Denard, David Bridges entertained at cookout May 19 Engaged couple Lauren Denard and David Bridges were entertained at a Luau Lawn and Garden Cookout Saturday evening, May 19, in Washington at the home of Mr. and Mrs. IV Grimaud. Joining the Grimauds in hosting the event were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hardy, Mr. and Mrs. Don Bridges and Mr. and Mrs. Rob Strother. For the occasion Miss Denard wore an orange sleeveless blouse with white Capri pants. The lawn held guests' tables that were covered by white tablecloths and topped with mirrors and glass hurricanes that featured candles and seashells surrounded by sand, citronella candles and hibiscus confetti in keeping with the luau theme. Hibiscus flowers and luau garlands were a colorful addition to the patio where the serving tables were placed. Guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks as they arrived. A meal of barbecued chicken, slaw, potato salad, baked beans, tropical fruit and bread were enjoyed during the evening and a luau-themed cake was served for dessert. After dinner the couple opened their gifts on the patio at a bamboo tiki table and chairs ensemble. The hosts presented them a gift card to Target.
Over 70 guests attended. Special guests for the evening were the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Denard, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Denard and Mrs. Aage Hoffman; the prospective bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Bridges, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Bridges, all of Washington.
