Adams presents bluebirds program to W-W Garden Club

Celeste Adams presented a program on bluebirds at the meeting of the Washington-Wilkes Garden Club as they gathered Thursday, May 10, at the North Wilkes Library in Tignall.

Mrs. Adams gave an informative and interesting presentation on how to attract bluebirds, the type of houses and their placement, feeding tips and protection from predators. She also shared brochures on bluebirds. Mrs. Adams has also placed in the garden center of the Mary Willis Library these brochures with tips to attract bluebirds.

Prior to her program Mabel Johnson, president, welcomed members and led the Pledge to the Flag. She offered the devotional, "A Prayer for Today" from "Seeds of Inspiration" published by the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc.

She noted that the club received numerous awards and certificates at the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. State Convention.

Other business was conducted and members were invited to a picnic on June 14 at the home of Linda Burns.

Following the program members enjoyed delicious goodies from Tignall's Dollar General "Supermarket" in addition to refreshing punch.

Present were Dr. Sophia Bamford, Celeste Adams, Paula Butts, Elaine Boiter, Linda Burns, Becky Dixon, Sarah Frances Henderson, Mabel Johnson, Edna Lamar, Pat Mack, Edna Rhodes, Genevieve Thurmond and Mary Webster.
