Addison Owen celebrates first birthday May 1

Addison Carter Owen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Owen III, was one year old on May 1.

On his birthday Addison was treated to a pizza dinner with his parents, brother, Lawson, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mathews, at his home. His cake was decorated with colorful balloons and a "1' candle on top.

Addison celebrated again on May 12 with a "Celebrate '1'" party at his home. Guests enjoyed a backyard cookout complete with hot dogs, slaw, baked beans, chips and homemade ice cream. His twotiered cake was topped with his own brown teddy bear holding a candle.

The children enjoyed jumping on the trampoline, playing on the playset, using silly string and drawing with sidewalk chalk.

Goody bags were given to all his friends.

Celebrating with Addison and his parents were his brother, Lawson; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Owen Jr. of Elberton and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mathews of Rayle; great-uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mathews of Crawford; uncle, Brian Mathews of Rayle; aunt, Mrs. Eugene Hagood; cousins, Heather Haygood and Dylan Owen; also, Mr. and Mr. Bob Scott, Makalya and Morgan, and Jared Fleming, Jessica and Caitlin, all of Elberton; and Mrs. Shane Gunter and Ty of Washington.
