Local kids perform in Briarwood Academy's 'An Aesop Adventure'

Wilkes County second graders performing in the Briarwood musical were (clockwise from left back) Sylvia Walker, India Callaway, Jonathan Davidson, Alli Bennett and Hunter Callaway.

The "Town Mice" and the "Country Mice" along with a lone cat, portrayed by Alli Bennett, and a narrator, Jonathon Davidson, were showcased in "An Aesop Adventure - A Children's Musical" on May 10 at Briarwood Academy.

Under the direction of Jeannie Joesbury, Briarwood Academy's second through fifth graders partici- pated in the musical written by Cristi Cary Miller.

Five Wilkes County second graders, Sylvia Walker, India Callaway, Jonathan Davidson, Alli Bennett and Hunter Callaway, performed the fable "The Story of the Town Mouse and the Country Mouse" and the song, "Simple Pleasures".
