We are grateful for the wonderful rain Saturday and Saturday night. We hope the Lord will set fitto send more soon. At Aonia we got two inches. Dr. Dupree said he got four inches in Thomson. .Happy birthday to all who are celebrating a birthday this week. Alice Ingram and Lauree Shelton will celebrate one on June 8. .Dr. Dupree's sermon Sunday was "More Than Memory," taken from John 14:16-27. We had a good day, good attendance, and a fellowship meal followed the morning service at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The flowers were placed by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Marett in honor of her father, Mr. Hall. By the way, Bob and Phyllis have a little grandson, born to daughter Alicia and her husband. He and mom are doing fine. His name is Andrew. .We express our sincere love and sympathy to all who recently lost loved ones, especially to the Joe Griffin family. His sisters, Eva G. Burdette and Betty Griffin Duke, are part of our Ebenezer Church family. .Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Clark and Dakota returned to Lakeland, Fla., Tuesday after visiting her sister, Mrs. Lynn Gay, and Mr. Gay. .Mitch Taylor, Cassie and Bryson Goldman-Taylor visited her mother, Deanne Johnson, in Hull for the weekend. They went especially to celebrate Cassie's birthday which was May 31. .G.B. and I had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County Sunday. Garnett Wallace, Nan and Richard Goff of McCormick, S.C., joined us.

.Mr. and Mrs. Dave Peek of Vero Beach, Fla., spent several days with Mrs. Jenelle Newsome last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Newsome and Anna of Martinez visited in Washington Saturday. They all enjoyed supper in Thomson. The Peeks are en route to Star Lake, N.Y., to make their home. . Russell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Sara Huff. Other visitors included Linda Standard. They all enjoyed dinner at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Sunday to honor their pastor who will be moving. .Kenneth Shank of Atlanta and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shank of Lexington, S.,C., visited Mrs. Hal Shank Friday and Saturday. .Bobbi Thornton of Washington visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alec Dunaway last week. .Becky Phillips of Conyers arrived Thursday to spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips. Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla of Washington visited from Thursday until Sunday. .Several of our classmates (Lincolnton High School Class of 1964) got together and went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Palmer in Lexington where we enjoyed a delicious meal Saturday. It was a covered dish affair and we all enjoyed being together. Those attending were Linda Carter Reid of Martinez; Linda Crook Turner of Winder; Trudie Bradford Sutherland and Sherry Wallace Newsome of Washington. Those joining us were Mr. and Mrs. Don Ashmore, Brenda Sumserilot, Charles Palmer and Hilda Scott Palmer. We had a real good day, laughing, talking, playing games, and eating. After the party I went on to Winterville and spent the night with Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gaines and boys, returning home in time for church Sunday. .Our prayer concerns include Lois South, Pete Strother, Ethel Harris, Dot Shank, Grace Dunaway, Willie Ruth Freeman, Mona Hall, Linda Albea, Joyce Bowen, Johnny Reed, Grady Reed, Oliver and Genelle Gill, Priscilla and Morrison Maxwell, Russell Stratton, Alan Thurmond, Charles Blakey, Joyce Sifre, Mary Lou Stewart, Sara Dees, Deborah Cato, Irvin Swann, Bob Jackson, Ronnie Callaway, Henry Wallace, Mike Webb, JoAnn Webb, Gary Rogers, Lucy McCorkle, Becky T. Thomasson, Ruth Bell, Rev. Thompson Holloman, Roberta Roper, Wylie Dallas, Barry Bailey, Earnest Cathey, Blanche Armour, Pete Hardy, Florence Ingram, Marie Bradley, Netta Hoffman, Kathleen Reed, Stephanie Chapman, Roberta Roper, Miriam Hughes, Lois Holliday, George Hale, Annette T. Neal, Kathryn Padgett, Deanne N. Thompson, Henrietta Leard, Elmira Chafin,Warren Newsome, Jenelle Newsome, Bonnie Boatwright, our military personnel, our government (state, local, and national), our chruches, our pastors, Ebenezer's search committee, and our youth. . Rev. Albert Huyck will be the preacher at Ebenezer on June 10. Rev. and Mrs. Dupree are on vacation.
