I know everyone is thankful for the wonderful rain we received Saturday and Sunday. It's sad to see hay fields, crops and gardens dry up and nice to see when things turn green again. .Congratulations to Mrs. Juanita Bradford who has a new greatgranddaughter. She was born Friday, June 1, and weighed six pounds, 15 ounces. Her name is Emry Reegan Bradford and her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bradford of Dallas, Texas. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford of Washington, and they are planning to travel to Texas to see her later this month. .Charlie Branham was 11 years old Tuesday, May 29. That afternoon he and his parents and sister Whitney joined his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer for birthday cake and ice cream. On Thursday, he celebrated again with his friends, Ryan, Benjamin, and Exon. They had fun swimming and after a pizza supper and ice cream and cake they enjoyed a movie in Thomson. They spent the night in Charlie's tent although I'm sure they didn't get much sleep. .Whitney Branham and her friend, Whitley Hodges, also went to the movie and after that she spent the night with Whitley. .Pam McCarty and her sister, Gail Hammock of Warwick, and friends, Susan Alsobrook of Albany and Samille Posey of Cordele, spent several days recently at St. George Island Beach, Florida. .Pam McCarty visited her longtime friend, Angela Adkinson, several days in Hapeville and on Tuesday attended the funeral of Angela's mother, Mrs. Agnes Beck, at First Baptist Church in Hapeville. .Mrs. Evans Davis attended the high school graduation of her granddaughter, Hannah Scoggins, in Augusta from the Academy of Richmond County on Wednesday held at James Brown Arena. . Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty were hosts last Sunday at a fishfry for a number of friends and family members. . Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance enjoyed lunch with James Lance and Keely Sarringer Sunday at La Cabana Mexican restaurant.
