John Henry Dowson

Funeral services for John Henry Dowson, 57, were held Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the Springfield Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Lance Pitts officiating. He died May 19. Burial was in City West Cemetery, Washington.

Mr. Dowson was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Annie Laura Littlejohn. He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church and had worked at McCannon Rock Quarry in Elberton for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dowson; three sons, Jimmy Dowson, John Dowson Jr., and Alphonso Norman; a daughter, Lashawn Maddox; three sisters, Wadine Lawson, Mary Littlejohn, and Elizabeth Allen, all of Washington; and 10 grandchildren.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
