Emmeline Hale celebrates thirteenth birthday on May 25

Emmeline Hale, daughter of Bill and Allison Hale of Athens, celebrated her 13th birthday, May 25, on two occasions.

On Satur- day, May 26, she and 11 of her girlfriends were divided into two teams for a scavenger hunt. Girls were given t-shirts to wear, with one team's shirts being hot pink with lime green writing and the other team's shirts being lime green with hot pink writing. On the front was "Sweet Thirteen" and on the back was each girl's name.

Each team was given a digital camera and driven around Athens by the Hales in two vans, following written instructions for pictures and various places or objects and for collection of a few items. Points were given for each successful instruction followed.

They assembled back at the Hale home and, after scoring and looking at the pictures, enjoyed grilled hot dogs and ice cream sundaes.

Celebrating this special birthday with Emmeline were Laney Mallet, Anna Justin, Madison Eberhardt, Sara Beisswenger, Jamella Banks, Layal Vishara, Kelsie Smith, Carie Cartwright, Collier Cobb, Megin Duttlinger and Jordan Meeler.

Sunday afternoon, May 27, Emmeline's parents hosted a family party at their home in Athens. Guests enjoyed the beautiful weather on the Hales' screened porch where they served lemonade, birthday cookie cake, and ice cream.

Enjoying this occasion with Emmeline were her sister, Isabelle; Cread and Alicia Brown, Luke and Porter, of Thomson; Rob, Melissa and Macey Matthews of Watkinsville; Mark and Anitra Hale and Billy and Gloria Hale of Athens; and Boots and Shirley Gunter of Washington.
