Troy Colvard to attend 2007 Governor's Honors Program
Troy Colvard, a Washington-Wilkes High School student, will be attending the Governor's Honors Program from June 10 through July 21 this summer. The Governor's Honors Program is a six-week summer instructional program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year. Students are chosen based on their average daily attendance, aptitudes, and interests by his or her teacher. It is open to all rising juniors and seniors. Troy will be studying in the English area. He was chosen for this honor by Ms. Anna Nero and Mrs. Marsha Willis. Troy will attend the program on the campus of Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia.
