Georgia State Patrol reports 7 accidents, 7 injuries for May

State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated seven traffic crashes during the month of May in Wilkes County.

Sergeant First Class Derrick Durden said the traffic crashes resulted in seven injuries. There were no fatalities.

SFC Durden said troopers from Post 17 also issued 125 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes three arrests for driving under the influence; 65 citations for speeding; 12 seatbelt violations; and one child restraint violation.

Troopers also issued 187 warnings.
