Margaret Lightfoot Barnett Graveside services for Margaret Lightfoot Barnett, 82, of Augusta were held Saturday, June 9, 2007, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Grady Wigley of Athens officiating. She died Wednesday, June 6, at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta. Mrs. Barnett was born in Millen and was the daughter of the late Ruth Rocker and George W. Lightfoot. She was valedictorian of the Millen High School Class of 1942 and attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She was a secretary for a stock broker in Athens for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Augusta; the Elks Ladies Auxiliary; and was a Pink Lady at St. Mary's Hospital for several years. Survivors include her husband, Aurelius P. Barnett of Augusta; two grandsons, William and Graham Carithers of Brunswick; and a sister, Betty Wiggins of Augusta.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
