Billie and Johnny Carroll honored at 50th wedding anniversary reception
Festivities were held at the beautiful lake home of Linda and Johnny Burns of Tignall. In honor of the occasion Mrs. Carroll was presented a corsage of yellow rosebuds and Mr. Carroll, a yellow rosebud boutonniere. As guests arrived, they greeted the couple and were invited into the sunroom overlooking the lake for delicious refreshments. The beautiful anniversary cake was decorated in yellow and green and was topped with a golden "50." It centered a lace-covered round table. Additional refreshments and punch were enjoyed from other tables. While many enjoyed the beautiful view from the sunroom, others spilled out to the canopy-covered patio to enjoy the lake view and visit with friends. Each guest received a candy bar with a picture of the couple on the front and an appropriate poem on the reverse side. Out-of-town friends and family guests included their sons and families, Paul and Casey Carroll, Conner and Clay, of Lawrenceville and Chuck and Lynn Carroll and Katelyn of Thomson; daughter, Lorre Mortimer of Oakwood; and granddaughter, Kelli Bentley of Dacula; also, Tony and Kathy Jenkins of Norcross and Tignall; Thomas Still of Loganville; and Ellen Bruce of Commerce, who served as maid of honor in the Carrolls' wedding.
Many local friends and church members were also in attendance.
