W-W Parks and Recreation has fun summer planned for kids

The Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation has an eventful summer planned for all children.

The W-WPR Summer Playground has begun and will end on July 20. It is held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Reese Booker Center. Children will be able to learn life skills and participate in various activities. Free lunch and transportation are provided.

Children ages 4 to 6 are invited to attend "Being with My Friends" camp that will be held June 25-July 6. Registration ends on June 22 and the cost is $15. Children will be able to participate in sports, golf cart rides, story time, and several other activities.

Soccer camp will be held July 9-12 and 16-19 from 6- 8:30 p.m. Ages for sign-up are 4 ½ to under 18. The camp fee is $15.

Cheerleading camp will also be held July 9-20 from 6-8 p.m. Ages 5-12 are invited to participate. The cost is $10 per child.

Early sign-ups for W-W recreation football have begun. Ages 8-13 are encouraged to join. The football fee is $45 dollars and the deadline for registration is September 3. The late registration fee is $75.
