Pharr family honored at baby shower June 23

The Darren Pharr family was honored on Saturday evening, June 23, with a baby shower at the home of Dr. and Mrs. William C. Branan on Poplar Drive. Assisting the Branans in hosting the event were Mr. and Mrs. Brad Sheffieldof Athens.

In honor of the occasion Mr. and Mrs. Pharr were presented a corsage and boutonniere of white daisies.

Guests were invited to the backyard where a delicious buffet dinner was served. Tables were covered with white linen cloths and centered with arrangements of blue hydrangeas, sunflowers, yellow zinnias and black-eyed Susans. The buffet table held a massive arrangement of the same cut flowers in a glass punch bowl. A collage of Mr. and Mrs. Pharr's baby pictures was also on display.

Some 30 families enjoyed the evening and brought the Pharrs frozen prepared food that could be used after the baby's arrival. Guests also showered the couple with practical gifts for the baby. The hosts presented the couple certificatefor a home-cooked meal to be delivered at the request of the honorees.

Special guests of the evening were prospective grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerrel Pharr and Mr. and Mrs. G.T. Hall.
