Community participation makes celebration incredible

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

I could never say it enough to the businesses and people of Wilkes County, for their generous donations to the fireworks Celebration Fund. We raised $10,226.28! That is incredible! It covered all of the costs for the day. There is no way we could have raised that much without all of your support to such a spectacular show. Washington should be very proud of the fireworks show, it rivals any big city's fireworks show, no doubt.

Thank you to Chris Bishop at Bi- Lo for the generous donations to the cook-out and to all of the participants of the Celebrity Baggers. You all worked so hard for the great tips. We raised $1,019 that day. Thank you to those of you who made donations at Bi-Lo that go unnamed.

We had such a great time on the 4th of July and could not have done it without all of the city and county officials, the firedepartment, the police department, the Chamber of Commerce, Payroll Development Authority, Barnett Southern Corporation, and the great citizens of Wilkes County!

Thank you to all of the vendors who set up for the day! We were excited to have every one of you be a part of a great celebration. Thank you to Chris Hughes, Pete Bragg, and Friends Band for the excellent entertainment on The Square.
