Proceeds will benefit children, youth
Bob Anderson of Tignall was the winner of the Kiwanis Pedal Plane raffle at Wednesday night's drawing. Anderson's ticket was drawn from a large number of ticket holders right before the Fourth of July fireworks display on The Square. The proceeds from the raffle are used by the Washington Kiwanis Club to fund its academic scholarship program grants and other activities that support children and youth in Washington and Wilkes County. Club President Bill Steed (right) congratulated Anderson on being the proud winner of the pedal plane and turned over the keys to operate it. Kiwanian Chris Hughes (not pictured) is the Pedal Plane Project coordinator.
