'Beep-beep, lady'; Wilkes native feeds N.M. road runners
Brenda (Moochie) Weber, a former resident of Washington now living in New Mexico, read in The OfficeCat about her escapades with road runners (birds) at her home in New Mexico and sent us these pictures. Moochie says if the patio door is open, the road runners will come in and rest out of the sun on her rug, waiting for her to feed them. They eat right out of her hand. "That long beak is a little scary," Moochie says, "but they never have bitten me." She feeds them hamburger meat and says they are very friendly birds. She invites us all to "come see."
