GSP troopers work 8 crashes, 1 death in Wilkes last month

State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated eight traffic crashes during the month of June in Wilkes County.

Sergeant First Class Derrick Durden said the traffic crashes resulted in nine injuries and one traffic death.

SFC Durden said troopers from Post 17 also issued 117 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes seven arrests for driving under the influence, 55 citations for speeding, 14 seat belt violations, and fivechild restraint violations. Troopers also issued 196 warnings.
