Megan Wheatley graduates from Rabun Co. H.S.

Megan Wheatley of Tiger graduated with honors from Rabun County High School in commencement exercises at Frank Snyder Stadium in Tiger June 1.

Megan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wheatley of Tiger, formerly of Washington. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wheatley of Washington and Anthony Smolar and the late Mary Smolar of Melbourne, Fla.

Attending the graduation ceremony along with her parents were family members, Carlton Wheatley of Tignall; Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Wheatley and Ben Wheatley of Athens; and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wheatley.

Megan was an honor graduate and in the top ten percent of her class throughout high school. For the past four years she was a member of the Lady Wildcats Tennis Team, marching and symphonic bands, and served as secretary of 4-H. Megan was also a member of the jazz band for two years and a color guard member for one year.

During her years at RCHS, Megan was involved in the Anchor Club, FBLA, Academic Bowl and Interact Club. She was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, Tri M Music Honor Society, and Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Megan plans to attend Young Harris College to study pre-optometry.
