Attendance was down quite a bit at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Sunday. I guess people are on vacations and some still on the sick list. Rev. Martin preached a good message from the second chapter of Proverbs. .We were saddened to hear of the death of Henry (Hoppy) Hopkins Jr. last week. He was the son of the late Henry Hopkins and Susie Mae Hardy Hopkins. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at Forest Heights Baptist Church in Athens. A covered dish lunch will be served following the service. .Mrs. James Sherrer, Mrs. Philip Huff and her mother, Mrs. Johnny Wolfe, enjoyed spending the day Tuesday in Anderson, S.C. .Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty went to Atlanta Monday to be with his mother, Mrs. Judy Strickland, who had surgery at a hospital in Atlanta. .Mrs. Ricky McCarty and Mrs. Jack Strother spent several days on a business trip in Atlanta. .Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford Thursday afternoon in Thomson. .Whitney and Charlie Branham were overnight guests of Whitly and Benjamin Hodges Wednesday night and on Saturday Benjamin spent the night with Charlie. They had lots of fun swimming. .Mrs. Ricky McCarty visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Strother Saturday night. .Philip Huff of Athens visited Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Saturday and had lunch with them. He also visited Addison Hallford that morning. .Mrs. Bill Scoggins and Hannah of Augusta spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Evans Davis. .Mrs. Roch Filipiak visited Mrs. Iris Dyson Sunday afternoon.
