Alberta Coleman Graveside services for Alberta Coleman, 89, of Decatur were held Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the Thankful Baptist Church, Lincolnton, with Rev. George L. Edwards officiating. She died Monday, June 25. Mrs. Coleman was the daughter of the late John Henry Gary and Reese Thompson Clark of Elberton. She was the widow of John C. Coleman. She was an excellent cook and gardener. She had lived in Oakland, California, for a time before coming to live with her nephew, Pastor Robert Lee Tate, and his wife, Evangelist Jean Tate, of Decatur. Survivors include a sister, Annie Mae Tuggle of Decatur. Pallbearers included Lamar Jones, Willie Jones, Horace Godwin, Ed Coleman, Alvin Jones, and Major Amey.
McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
