Kiwanis Club presents scholarship
Molly Newsome (left) accepts a $1,000 check from Washington Kiwanis Club President Bill Steed as one of three academic scholarship winners this year. Molly, a 2007 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School, served as president of the W-W Interact Club and was a majorette with the marching Tiger Band. She is currently the president of the Watson-Brown Foundation Junior Board and is the daughter of Mary and Sparky Newsome of Washington. She plans to attend the University of Georgia beginning next month.
