We received over an inch of rain Saturday and I was thrilled to get it. Thank you, Lord, for the rain and all our many blessings. .I made a trip to Augusta Wednesday and also visited North Augusta. .Lona Chesnut and son Roy spent the weekend in Gaffney, S.C., and Boone, N.C., where they met friends. They returned home Monday. .Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shank of Lexington, S.C.,. spent Friday through Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Dot Shank. .Paul Ingram of Mableton visited Mr. and Mrs. Billy Glenn Monday. He and his sister Bickey enjoyed lunch together. .Visitors of Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway were Anna and Mal Heaton, Billy Dunnaway, Tommy Dunnaway, Bonnie Brown and Bobbi Thornton. .Peyton Standard of Lexington, S.C., spent most of the week with his grandparents, Keith and Linda Standard. . Randy Goldman, Connie and Misty Johnson of Lincoln County visited Sara Huff Saturday. Later Saturday evening, Cassie Goldman, Bryson and Mitch Taylor visited Randy in Lincoln County.
.Linda Standard and Peyton spent a while with Sara Huff Saturday. On Sunday Linda and Sara attended Sunday School at Mt. Zion and preaching services at Pierce's Chapel. . Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips spent Wednesday in Augusta and North Augusta. They had dinner in Thomson Sunday. .We had a sweet service at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. A baptism service was held for Alaina, Bill Fair's step-daughter. She is from the U.K. We observed the Lord's Supper also. .Our prayer concerns include Agnes Smith, Earnest Cathey, Peggy, A.J. and family, D.T. Danner, Gene and Sara Lamar, Joe Charping, Willie Ruth Freeman, Alan Thurmond, Charles Blakey, Price Snelson, Reba Thornton, Marvin and Blanche Armour, Elmira Chafin,Linda Albea, Ann Gunter, Ronnie Callaway, Oliver and Genelle Gill, Lois South, Pete Strother, Ethel Harris, Dot Shank, George Hale, Helen Ross, Jane Hudson, Henry and Blanche Wallace, Jenelle Newsome, Becky Thomason, the search committee, your pastor, your church, your community, your friends, your enemies, our government officials, the family of Teresa Echols Bray, the family of Judy Duke, and the family of Earl Bradley. .Happy birthday to Miranda Nelson, Trey Kemp, Brandon Linares, Nan Goff (my sister), and those others who are celebrating birthdays this week. . Don't forget the Newsome reunion will be Saturday, August 4, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Come and join in the fellowship. Bring your favorite foods to share at lunch.
