Identity theft
We had become sensitized by these soothsayers of hope in mankind and hope in this life which is contrary to God's holy word. Yet, no matter what the optimists say, we still skate on thin ice called "false security." Other than the war between the states back in the 1860s, while the rest of the world has been and is ravaged by wars, we have until recent years been fairly unscathed, leading us through a virtual fantasy land of false hope and security to think the world can be just one big happy family and we can disarm our military and weaken our armed forces. Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." They can talk about man's security all they want, but in this old world outside of hope in Jesus Christ there is no real security. Secure! Yet terrorists could highjack that many planes and do such devastation right under our noses. It's like one fellow said. He had bought a so-called rat and mice-proof house and three days after moving in he saw a mouse, which is to say "a rat can findhis way in somehow." Amen. They say that you will always remember where you were and what you wee doing for the rest of your life when any great tragic event takes place. On that unforgettable day as I walked into my officethinking about the horror of it all I once again looked at my little paperweight rock inscribed, "Stand on the rock!"
Stand on the rock, Christ Jesus. Stand there because everything else in this old insecure world is only sinking sand. Stand! Can you say amen?
