Beulah Baptist Bicentennial begins at 10 a.m. August 12

Beginning at 10 a.m. on August 12th, Beulah Baptist Church will be celebrating its Bicentennial.

Historical displays will be available for the congregation to enjoy. Reverend Jamie Callaway, pastor of Beulah, will deliver the message. Dr. Charles Drummond will be presenting the church with a 200-year plaque.

After the service, there will be a barbecue and covered dish luncheon. Squire Parsons will present a concert at 2 p.m. A love offering will be taken during the concert. All proceeds will go towards the building fund.

Beulah Baptist Church was originally named Union Baptist Church and the name was kept for 37 years. The church was admitted to the Georgia Baptist Association in 1807 under the name Union. The church changed its name to Beulah when it moved to its present location in 1853.

Approximately 46 preachers have served at Beulah during its 200-year history.

Since the church has seen an increase in its members, the need for a family life center has become its newest project.

Beulah Baptist Church is located at 6556 Elberton Highway.
