Under the blazing August sun
We knew it had to come eventually. After a pretty reasonable July, August is here with a sweaty humid vengeance, and all of Wilkes County has been suffering under that merciless white sky of midsummer all week. With temperatures this hot, we need to keep an eye on our senior neighbors and make sure they're safe. Experts say when the heat index gets this high, it can easily cause death in the very old and very young.
