Joseph Brantley Stevens

A memorial service for Joseph "Pete" Brantley Stevens of Washington on Saturday, August 11, 2007, 3 p.m., at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington. Rev. Gale Seibert and Rev. Brian George will officiate. He died Saturday, August 4, at Wilkes Health Care Center, Washington.

Mr. Stevens was a native of Wilkes County and the son of the late Brantley O. Stevens and Lucy Echols Stevens. He was a 22-year veteran of the United States Navy and had lived the last years of his life in Defuniak Springs, Fla.

Survivors include a daughter, Delesline McCall; a son, Joseph Stevens; four grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy S. Branham of Washington; and three brothers, Gene A. Stevens, Doug Stevens, and Bobby Stevens.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
