Sarah Marie Granger weds Adam Leslie Russell July 16

Mr. and Mrs. Adam Leslie Russell
Sarah Marie Granger of Duluth and Adam Leslie Russell of Washington were united in marriage in a Christian ceremony in the presence of their families on Monday, July 16, at fiveo'clock in the afternoon at Sans Souci Resort, Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The bride is the daughter of Jack and Cherrie Granger of Duluth.

The bridegroom is the son of David and Cindy Russell of Washington.

The beautiful island ceremony took place before an arch of palm fronds enhanced with yellow and red hibiscus blossoms all before a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was stunning in her strapless satin A-line gown fashioned with a beaded embroidered lace bodice, draped organza skirt and chapel train.

Her veil fell from a crystal and pearl tiara.

She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white orchids. She also carried her christening bonnet that had been converted to a bride's handkerchief around the stems of her bouquet.

The bride also wore her mother's pearl ring and her grandmother's aquamarine ring as her "something borrowed, something old and something blue".

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Granger wore a smoked purple-colored strapless satin ball gown with side ruche and a matching jacket.

The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Russell, chose a celery-colored cocktail dress with crystal brooches adorning each strap.

Mrs. Granger, the bride's mother, made matching pearl and crystal anklets for the bride, bridegroom's mother, bride's daughter, Aralyn Russell, sister of the bridegroom, Delaney Russell, and herself that all wore during the ceremony.

The bridegroom, his father, the bride's father and brother, Colby Granger of Duluth, all wore matching Cuban wedding shirts. The bridegroom's jacket lapel sported a yellow rosebud, gypsophila and touch of fern boutonniere.

At the close of the ceremony the minister offered a special prayer for the new family.

Reception

Sans Souci Resort was the setting for a reception following the ceremony.

The wedding table was draped in white linen with flower petals scattered around the two-layered chocolate confection finished in cream cheese icing.

The immediate family was served champagne and cake. A toast written by the bride's best friend, Kourtney Marcus, who could not attend, was read by Cherrie Granger. The couple then toasted each other using a silver frosted champagne glass that was sent with the toast.

The couple was served a five course wedding dinner after the reception.

Following their honeymoon at the resort, Mr. and Mrs. Russell are making their home in Statham. Mr. Russell will continue to pursue a degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of George in Athens and Mrs. Russell will teach fourth grade at Kennedy Elementary School in Barrow County.
