Sardis Baptist Church enjoyed having Rev. Skip Padgett as guest speaker Sunday morning. Monica Gunter led in the singing of beautiful hymns with Pam Hall as pianist. Denise Armour held children's church in the annex. Trey Berry was in charge of the nursery. Prayer meeting is held every Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Echols Home. .J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright went to Athens Wednesday for Bonnie's doctor appointment. They went to Thomson Tuesday and enjoyed having lunch at the Chinese restaurant with Bill, Connie, and Amber Rachel Gamble of Martinez. .Mrs. Ann Willliamson enjoyed having two of her grandsons spend some time with her before starting back to school. Keith Pettit of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, spent the whole month of July with his grandmother and other relatives here. Alex Williamson of Salley, S.C., spent two weeks with her. Alex's mother came for him and spent the day. Keith's parents, Albert and Karen Pettit, and Rebecca of Upper Marlboro came and spent four days here with the Williamson family, taking Keith back home with them. .Mrs. Bonnie Boatwright enjoyed visiting Mrs. Wilda Boatwright Wednesday evening. .August birthdays that I know about are Trey Kimp, August 1; Karen Bowen, third; Teresa Maxwell, fifth; Frankie Jones, seventh; Rick Callaway, 15th; Gloria Wheatley, 18th; Ricky Callaway, 28th; and Vickie Bunn Sisson, 31st. .Bonnie Boatwright visited Lamar and Kay Berry and Trey Wednesday. Brooke Berry, Kaitlyn and Bryson also were visiting them. Barry and Dana Echols of Ball Ground spent last Sunday here at their home. Charles and Nina Batwright, Randy Boatwright, J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright, and Lamar and Kay Berry and Trey visited with them while they were here. .Martha Jones of Bogart spent Saturday with Bonnie Boatwright and they enjoyed going to Thomson where they joined Bill, Connie, And amber Rachel Gamble of Martinez and Clay Haynes of Gainesville for lunch at Angie's Steak and Seafood Restaurant. .Bonnie Boatwright joined other members of the Class of 1956 of Oglethorpe County High School, Eddie and Jo Ann Paul York, J.B. Harrison, Morris Smith, Minan Maxwell, Helen Smith, Carole Morgan, Syble Murray, and Peggy Bray for breakfast at Sandy Cross Cafe near Lexington Monday morning.
