Thanks to all food pantry helpers

TO THE EDITOR:

Many people were involved in the recent move of the old community food pantry from the basement of the First United Methodist Church to the new site on East Robert Toombs Avenue. Without the help of each of these individuals, the move would not have been possible.

Thanks first of all to Cliff Hargrove and his workers from the Georgia Forestry Commission for providing much labor and a flatbed trailer to move shelves and freezers, and much of the food.

Also helping move and organize food on the shelves at the new site were Herb and Cathy Stackhouse, Rhonda Keen, Debbie Holes, Susan and Dr. Bill Branan, Skeet Willingham, Buddy Lindsey, Trevin Burriss and Todd Lewis.

Many thanks, also, to Dottie Norman for keeping our morale up with her delicious homemade ham biscuits.

The site had been prepared by much hard work on the premises with groundskeeping and considerable scraping and painting by George Brooks, Al Zima, Cheryl Young, Lisa Luken, Margaret and Carlton Norris, and our God's Marketplace Inc. (GMI) director, Dr. Dave Toburen, whose guidance and assistance throughout the process was in dispensable. Many thanks to Laura Toburen for her kind help and support at the open house.

Many others in town helped out in various ways during this process and for each one who did, please accept our gratitude.

Come by and see us. The GMI Food Pantry will be open Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon each week.

Thanks to everyone.

RICH SEIBERT GMI Food Pantry Manager
