Divesia Lee takes part in Pre-Teen Georgia scholarship program

Divesia Lee, nine-year-old daughter of LaShaunder and Divenski Lee, participated in the Pre-Teen Georgia Scholarship and Recognition Program held at the Westin North Hotel in Atlanta. "Georgia's best and brightest top female honor students, ages 7-12, competed for over $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards," according to a press release from Pre-Teen America.

Divesia received trophies as State Junior Speech Winner; State Junior Top 20 Finalist; and State Junior Second Runner-up; and educational bonds. She qualified for competition in the 2008 Pre-Teen America National Competition to be held July 2-7, 2008, at the Radisson in Baton Rouge, LA, where she will have the opportunity to compete for over $25,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards.

She is the granddaughter of Jesse and Glenda Elam and Esper and Bessie Lee. Her sponsors included Wright & Jones Funeral Home and Kut N Up Barber and Beauty Salon. The family is grateful for their support and that of Rev. and Mrs. Alvin Rivers, Deleki Lee, Alicia Mahoney, Toombs McLendon IV, and other family and friends in Lincolnton and Washington.
