Miss Emily Rorie of Echols Personal Care Home in Rayle spent a day recently with her aunt and uncle, Mildred and Dan McAvoy. Visiting them Sunday afternoon were Tommy McAvoy, Henry McAvoy, Donnie and Claudia McAvoy. .Cousins Joyce Blackburn, Frances Ogletree, and her daughter, Karen Bryant, enjoyed lunch together at Zaxby's in Washington Tuesday of last week. .Visiting Sunday afternoon with Morrison and Priscilla Maxwell were their children, Lee Maxwell of Atlanta, and his friend Jason; Mary Jane Scarborough and son Tyler. There was a lot of good excitement going on during their time together which was uplifting to us. Lee will be 35 Sunday, August 19. It's good to have caring children. .Gloria Hardy had foot surgery recently. We hope she gets along well. I know what it's like not to be able to drive when you are used to getting out and going. I have not been able to drive in some time. .Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Clemon Thigpen of Thomson who passed away Friday morning after a fight with cancer. He was the father of Charlotte (Mrs. Charles) Waller of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. A good many friends from Phillips Mill visited with the family during the weekend and attended his funeral services Sunday afternoon at Second Baptist Church in Thomson. The family appreciated all acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. .It is always nice to have family news called in to me. Each family in the Tyrone area helps make up our community. If every family was willing to share something, sometimes during the year, I believe "The Tyrone News" would be better. I am not beyond making mistakes, but I always try hard not to. I am human. The Tyrone News is one of the first things I turn to, just to check to see if I caught something wrong each week. If you notice something wrong I would appreciate you calling me in a nice way so it can be made right. Thanks from my heart -- Priscilla. .Remember. God loves you. Each of us is a gift from God and what we try to do for Him, is our gift to Him. The question is: how are we coming along? Have you invited Him into your heart? Something we all need to ask ourselves.
