Engaged couple entertained at outdoor shower

Engaged couple Samantha Armour and Will Callaway were feted at an outdoor Lawn and Garden Shower on Saturday evening, August 4, at the home of Gretchen and Bruce Lamar on Mallorysville Road in Tignall. Co-hosts with the Lamars were Sheila and Rick Callaway, Kimberly and Will Bentley, Crystal Purdy and Andy Jackson.

For the evening Miss Armour chose a maroon and brown sundress.

A John Deere tractor theme was used in decorating. Picnic tables about the yard featured Mason jars filled with white daisies, citronella candles and toy-sized John Deere tractors and trailers.

Guests dined on hot wings, pork, coleslaw, pasta salad, baked beans, taco salad and spinach dip served from rustic pails and like containers. A John Deere tractor cake was enjoyed for dessert.

A large cluster of green and yellow balloons floated from behind the gift table.

The hosts presented the couple a hay-filled green wheelbarrow, a John Deere birdhouse and pinwheel outdoor garden ornament.

Thirty couples were invited. Special guests included the bride-elect's parents, Angela and Greg Armour, and the prospective bridegroom's father, W. David Callaway.

Barbara Burns of Washington coordinated the reception.

For a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the bride wore a black and white halter sundress.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel are making their home in Athens.

Rehearsal Dinner

Augusta and Dorothy Samuels, assisted by Darlene Williams, were hosts at a rehearsal dinner honoring Altenese Walton and Jeremiah Samuel on Friday evening at Gibson Grove Baptist Church.

The bride-elect wore a white linen shorts ensemble.

Candles centering floral arrangements were used in decorating.

Guests enjoyed a dinner of spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, corn, pound cake and iced tea.
