Falaise earns BS degree at NC State, will coach at GMC

MERCI FALAISE
Dieu-Merci Falaise, a 2002 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School, has earned a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.

Merci was an outstanding football player for the Washington-Wilkes Tigers, helping his team reach the state championship playoffs in his sophomore year. In spite of dislocating his hip that sophomore year, Merci's potential was still sought and he received a full scholarship to both Georgia Military College in Milledgeville and North Carolina State in Raleight.

The student has worked this summer in the Wilkes County Partnership Summer Program with Horace Jordan and Carolyn Reynolds at the Reese Booker Playground.

His will be in an offensive line coach position at GMC under Head Coach Brett Williams this fall.

He is the son of Beverly and Jean Rony Falaise.
